Practical Guideline Initial safety measures during breakdown assistance

This code of practice serves as the foundation for roadside assistance providers to work safely on the hard shoulders of the Dutch road network. Roadside assistance personnel employed by VACO members are required to adhere to these guidelines. This code of practice is a condensed version of the ‘Guidelines for Initial Safety Measures at Traffic Incidents’ (REVI) and applies to both the main road network and the secondary road network.

Before providing any roadside assistance, personnel must first contact one of the five traffic management centers. An overview map containing the telephone numbers for these five centers is included in this brochure; it is also available separately (as a laminated card) in our webshop.
